The Suwannee Valley Chapter was formed in 2002.  Our chapter membership encompasses the areas east of Tallahassee, Monticello, Madison, Greenville, Lee, Live Oak, Jasper, Wellborn, and Lake City in Florida, as well as Valdosta, Hahira, Quitman, Lake Park, Tffton, Thomasville and Moultrie in Georgia.

The organization’s goal is to heighten its members’ and the community’s knowledge and appreciation for dressage and combined training by sponsoring clinics, shows, and seminars, under the guidance of the rules of the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) and the United States Dressage Federation (USDF).

The Suwannee Valley Chapter is expanding from two dressage and combined training shows per year to several dressage, combined training, and open shows per season, as well as, at least one ride-a-test, trail ride, and clinic with a well known clinician per year.  We are breaking new ground with our recently created “Fun Freestyle” division.  This division takes the daunting but attractive sport of Musical Freestyle and makes it accessible to less advanced riders who want to try it out and have some fun ‘dancing” with their horses, but find the requirements of traditional Freestyle intimidating or even just a bit out of reach.

Our club meets on the second Thursday of each month at different locations.  We hold tack sales, saddle fitting and safety clinics and have guest speakers.  We publish a monthly newsletter keeping members informed of all our activities.  We, also, e-mail pertinent information regarding shows, healthcare, and any events that our members may be interested in.

Our membership supports all equestrian endeavors and welcomes everyone to our meetings and functions.  Please do not hesitate to e-mail or phone any of the Suwannee Valley Chapters officers for more information.
